Stari Grad
One of the oldest towns in Europe, Stari Grad (Cittavecchia di Lesina), the UNESCO Protected World Heritage, lies on north side of the island of Hvar.
Tvrdalj Petra Hektorovića
Last summer I visited the summer residence of Croatian poet Petar Hektorović (1487-1572) in Stari Grad (Hvar island). Tvrdalj (castle) is Renaissance building with the big interior courtyard which contains a sea - water fishpool enclosed by an arcaded terrace.
Hvar
The town is located in a small bay on the south coast of the island of Hvar.
Fortress "Španjola"
When you climb up on the stairs from the centre to the hill, road lead you to the fortress. Španjola is open for visitors, and you can reach this place by feet or drive up with your vehicle. Here you will experience enchanting panoramic view! Also, you can rest and drink a cup of coffee in a bar.
Hanibal Lucić's Summer Residence
Hanibal Lucić was Croatian poet and playwrite, autor of the first secular drama in Croatian language.
This building is a good example of the Renaissance architecture of country houses. It consists of two buildings and a large fenced garden.
